Dear Friends in
Faith,
Recently, as the rain gently began to fall, our neighbor who lives across

from the church on
Stam St, a little girl about 4 years old, started to
sing, “Rain, rain,
go away, come again another day”.
It was a wonderful
performance as her voice was clear and true.
Well the rain didn’t go away. Even as I work on this issue of the Chronicle
a summer rainfall – with lightening, thunder but no wind – is cleansing the
earth. I savor rainfalls such as this one – the sounds, the cool, clean air.
As a child, when we could not go outside to play because of the rain, we
were invited to curl up with a good book. To this day a summer rainfall
invites me to relax and pick up one of the many books – professional and/or
pleasurable books – I hope to read yet this summer.
Of course I enjoy sunny days, and all they pleasures they hold. it is easy
to savor those days. Yet I don’t let these rainy days go by without savoring
the joys they hold.
Days go by so quickly that we can easily miss the many joys and pleasures
God provides each day. I pray you are savoring these days and offering
gratitude to God for the joys of each day.
See you in church,
Rev. Jean
